About KAS - Overview
"The teachers, administrators, and staff are smart, energetic, kind, forward-thinking, and devoted to the care and education of their students."
Kentucky Avenue School is a small, vibrant, independent school located in Pittsburgh's Shadyside neighborhood. KAS serves diverse students from kindergarten through eighth grade. We offer small classes, a child-friendly environment, skilled teaching, and a challenging curriculum conveyed through both traditional and innovative methods. KAS sponsors an aftercare program in which our students can tackle their homework and enjoy supervised socializing, snacks, sports, and free play. KAS is a Let's Move Champion School and has the only lunch program in the area that prepares and serves fresh and healthy lunches on site. In addition, specialized after-school classes, such as Maker Club, Art Camp, and Film Club, are offered throughout the year.
